Position Friendliness of staff excellent food

Beds need updating as they were too small and rather saggy

a most enjoyable stay but a little pricey ,staff great

needs more staff at breakfast time

The room was airy and spacious and nicely decorated.

It felt that the hotel had changed hands since we last stayed there. The choice at breakfast although adequate was missing the specials that made this hotel memorable,Kidneys ,Kedgegree, porridge etc.The room £140pn was ok a bit dusty cobwebs on bedside lamps, but otherwise v clean, mattrass to soft for me but thats a personal thing,The breakfast was cooked well but I would have liked a bit more for the money paid.(2 eggs 2 sausages hash browns).Location great with parking,Staff ok apart from the embarassment of being shouted at on checking out,as we were going thru the door the manager (i think) shouted have I paid the bill!!!!which I had paid on my arrival!Typical faulty towers moment !I feel that the room was worth about £100pn for the facilities on offer.

The rooms were spacious & the four poster bed was very comfortable, Plenty of storage space, with good car parking at the rear of the Annex.

There could have been another easy chair instead of sitting on the bed.

Reasonable state of decor, comfy bed, good modern bathroom

Very noisy due to main road outside window, however we accept it is a town enviroment, small cheap old television on a tiny stand, impossible to see while on bed 4 x channels if lucky. Returned to hotel at 9pm looking forward to ordering dinner to be told that the chef isnt cooking any more because its quiet...it should have been open to at least 9.30 as we were told at reception.. Had to walk back into town to eat...not happy!

Location, apperance “oldy worldy” full of caracter breakfast excellent, service great, what else can you ask for? A four poster bed ……….yes it had one, great

Just a niggle but room decor was a bit tired cracked coving and paintwork in need of a little tlc

we loved the original features and the whole ambience. The staff were great and seemed genuinely happy in their work.

Main hotel and restaurant lovely. Breakfast very nice. Not greasy and fried bread cooked with olive oil. Parking excellent and easy access to town centre. Staff very friendly. Bathroom in annex modern. Big bedroom.

Would have preferred a larger bed which the room would have taken. Not keen on four posters, a bit old fashioned. All very well having an atmosphere to match the exterior but modern conveniences required. Titchy tv with no freeview channels. If they were there we couldn't find them. Very noisy from the traffic which was bearable but not the revellers at 3.30 am in the morning. Double glazing would have helped. All in all, the hotel warranted the b&b price but not the annex which we felt was overpriced for the standard of the room.,

welcoming reception, good service, excellent breakfast, good sized rooms, parking in a town centre location, rustic and homly feel about the whole place.

Room was warm as was the cold water at first, it would appear that the hot water supply, which is very warm runs close to the underside of the floor and the cold supply - no problem in winter and not a complaint - more of an observation.
